DVD shrink and nero.....computer expert needed!?

Q) I used to copy DVDs quite happily using dvd shrink. I had movie files and tried to back them up, it goes through all the motions of analyzing etc but when it comes to copying it onto disc it spits the disc out and this message comes up..............can you tell me whats wrong and how to fix it ? Burn Failed error at 98% to 99% using Nero and DVD Shrink...?

Q) I would like to know what the problem is with both Nero and DVD Shrink on my computer. The problem has been going on for about 1 month. I have tried every possible action from deleting and re-installing Nero and DVD Shrink. The disc always seems to stop at the 98-99% point but it still plays back perfectly. The problem I have is that I burn my data using a re-writable DVD in order to avoid stuffing up DVD's. I have tried reducing the burning speed and even downgraded from Nero 7 to Nero 6. I rip my DVD's using RipIt4me and it's fine. It's just when I either want to burn the final product through DVD Shrink or copy a DVD using Nero, it tells me their is an error and burn process failed. However I tried burning my same projects with DVDFab Platinum and they burnt fine with no errors, but I like using Nero because I’m used to it. I have included the reports that come when a burn process fails. Q) I would like to know what the problem is with both Nero and DVD Shrink on my computer. The problem has been going on for about 1 month. I have tried every possible action from deleting and re-installing Nero and DVD Shrink. The disc always seems to stop at the 98-99% point but it still plays back perfectly. The problem I have is that I burn my data using a re-writable DVD in order to avoid stuffing up DVD's. I have tried reducing the burning speed and even downgraded from Nero 7 to Nero 6. I rip my DVD's using RipIt4me and it's fine. It's just when I either want to burn the final product through DVD Shrink or copy a DVD using Nero, it tells me their is an error and burn process failed. However I tried burning my same projects with DVDFab Platinum and they burnt fine with no errors, but I like using Nero because I’m used to it. I have included the reports that come when a burn process fails. A) Since it always seems to happen towards the end of the burn you can try customizing the size of the disc in DVD Shrink to avoid burning near the edges of the disc. Start Shrink... go to Edit==>Preferences. Where it has Target DVD Size select custom and type in 4300 MBs. Click OK and try a burn and see if that helps.

Q) I am using DVD Shrink 3.2 to shrink a copy of Grey's Anatomy Season One. I have used it before many times with no problems, but it won't let me open the DVD. I decrypted it using DVD Decrypter. It plays on my computer fine, but when I go to to open the files in DVD Shrink, it says "DVD Shrink encountered an error and cannot continue. Invalid data in file "R:\Movies\Grey's Anatomy\Season One\Episodes 6-9\VTS_01_1.VOB". " It also doesn't work for my copy of Commander in Chief (second season) which also plays on my computer. Was there an error in decryption? If so it's no problem because I own both DVDs (legally) and I'm not breaking the law by copying them for my own personal use. Any suggestions? A) The problem is that DVD Shrink is old and no longer updated for the common copy protections. TRY AnyDVD... it's a 14 day trial, its a driver that runs in the background. Once installed and you restart your computer, it should allow you to backup your data. Continue using DVD Shrink. P.S. However cos they fail at 99-100% mark they still work fine when I play them back on the DVD player but that could be because I burn them using a re-writable DVD. I don’t think there is anything wrong with my DVD burner because it is less than a year old and it plays back all the DVD’s and CD’s fine and it also burns CD’s fine its just when I was burning the DVD’s that the error comes up. I tried burning the DVD’s with another program ‘FABDVD’ and it worked fine with no errors. So I deleted my copy of Nero and DVD Shrink and re-installed them both. But it’s still happening. Also today my computer froze and a blue screen appeared stating a serious error has occurred and the computer needs to be re-started. Then when I turned the computer it said that there was some sort of driver error, what is a driver? Any help would be appreciated.

A) OK calm down you posted way too much information dvd rw's will allways cause you problems after a while they dont hold up very well try dvd-r or +r second burn your dvds on the slowest speed and turn of any other applications that are not nesecary to save system space and what i have found to be the abolute best burning program is called Roxio Easy Media Creator 9 it does everything and it does it well much more than an average all in one burning program picture editing scrapbooking tons of cool stuff it makes nero look like an amatures toy but Roxio is very easy to use as well and not hard to learn the cool stuff you can do with it hope this helps

multiple-discs dvd burning stations?

Q) multiple disc burning stations. . . i am thinking of buying one of these things. i need to burn multiple copies at once of many different discs. e.g. disc 1 x 6 copies, disc 2 x 15 copies, etc. i know nothing about these things, but they seem to be a better alternative than buying a brand new computer just for that purpose (i don´t need a new computer). ** note: i am mostly burning discs that are not encrypted or encoded. also, i am not a tech guy, so please keep it simple. any suggestions are much appreciated. i want to know: 1. how does the shrinking work? i usually use dvd shrink on the computer. 2. can i do different original discs in different burners in it simultaneously? 3. do they do copyrighted/encrypted discs? 4. what other specs or features should i look for? 5. which brand/model do u recommend? 6. best price for that recommended one? 7. how many copies can be made of any disc? i gather an unlimited amount 8. any typical problems...are they reliable...would u guys recommend them? thanks, matt.

Burning DVD???

Q) 82 files (175MB each) to be burned on 4 DVDs. 20 files on each DVD. I have Nero Vision 2007. When i select 20 files, the size should be 3.5GB. It means i can burn 20-25 files on 1 DVD. But Nero Vision shows the size as 6.3GB and says "Problem may occur while burning DVD". I have heard abt this software DVD shrink. But i dont know its uses. Can it be helpful in this case? I repeat, I want to burn at least 20 files on 1 DVD. How is this possible?? Any suggestions?? Thanks!!

A) On a DVD+R disc the most that can fit on it is 4.7GB so i am guessing you not doing something right with your Nero.When I use Nero i can fill a DVD to the top MAX with no problems.Its gotta be your not useing Nero properly.(sorry to say that).But all i can say is just keep messing around with it, you can easily fit 20 or more files on a single DVD.I don't know what format your trying to use but try data format that also works.that's what i use..anyway good luck.

Does anyone know how to successfully backup disney movies?
